Hailey Quach - I Revolted Against “Vibe Coding” — Until I Realized I’d Been Doing It All Along
... partner or an assistant, not the lead architect. I often start by writing comments or a rough outline of the program structure, then have the AI flesh out each part. That way, I ensure the overall design makes sense and I m not ending up with a Franken-codebase that only the AI understands. Keep Your Coding Skills Sharp: This is more of a philosophy than a step, but it s worth stating: Don t let vibe coding atrophy your ... ... world moves on. My journey from hating the concept of vibe coding to adopting it has been humbling, to say the least. I built an iOS wellness coach app in 30 days — here's what I learned
... wellness coach What surprised me: even a simple app has a LOT more complexity than you d expect subscriptions, App Store review gotchas, etc. I ended up learning: - prompt tuning with GPT/Claude - real-world solo dev tradeoffs (done vs perfect) Available on the App Store (iPhone only): https://apps.apple.com/app/id674... Would love to hear: - Does the core idea make sense

YC deadline in <2 weeks; Who's applying?
... watching loved ones struggle to understand their lab reports and medical records. Every health app seemed to be just a chatbot with generic wellness advice. That s not enough not when people are scared, confused, or trying to make sense of something serious. So we built Hecco an AI that actually reads your lab reports, vitals, prescriptions, and more. Then it explains them in simple language, with citations and real clinical logic behind every insight. Is interacting with AI characters becoming the norm for you? (Your POV)
... Common Sense Media published a report on this topic, and it reminded me of how big a bubble I live in. When Meta announced back in 2024/2025 that they wanted to create AI avatars to boost engagement , I was skeptic, but data speaks clearly  young people enjoy AI interaction . Some key points: The majority of U.S. teens (72%) have tried an AI companion at least once. 52% said they are regular users (13% chat with them daily ... ... real friends are more likely to spend their time outside. :) Comment from Nika(@busmark_w_nika): @jordansvision  Of course, there is that trend. Even AI avatars earn way more than "regular" people. Comment from Nika(@busmark_w_nika): @vshpandey96

⚒️ New Idea: A Better Stan Store Alternative (free forever)

Trending? Filters? Store of the day? What should I not build ...

Coding with an AI IDE (visual) vs AI CLI (Terminal), what's better?
... really want to see the diff view as I have developed a healthy distrust of LLMs. So you can do both as Claude Code has a lot of plugins for IDEs: Claude Code for Jetbrains Claude Code for VScode See Anthropic docs on how to add Claude Code to your IDE for more Comment from Nikolai Berezovskii(@brzvsk): As a product person, not a dev, my take might be controversial: CLI-based AI tools are becoming more valuable for rapid ... ... Schranz (@__tosh): I would say in principle a richer ui (e.g. web based) will be better than a terminal user interface. It can do everything a terminal user interface can do and go way beyond it whenever it makes sense

Should you offer free access when launching a paid product on Product Hunt?
... seeing more products launch on Product Hunt that require payment to actually use any features. No free trial, no freemium tier, just a download that leads straight to a paywall. Part of me thinks this makes sense. If your product has real value, why give it away? People on Product Hunt understand they're looking at premium tools. Plus offering free access can attract users who will never pay anyway. But I also see the argument for temporary free access ... ... trial that gives people enough time to evaluate during the launch buzz, but converts them to paid after. I've seen successful launches using all three approaches, but I'm curious what actually works better for building genuine momentum versus

Would it make sense to have job postings on Product Hunt?
... wrong, but a few years ago, job opportunities were promoted here by companies when they wanted to find someone to join their team. This is also a question for founders or companies: Would it make sense to onboard tech-savvy or business-oriented people from here? Do you trust AI more than humans?

Giving My Chatbot “Rights” – My Indie Dev Journey

Is It Crazy to Build a Local App in a Browser-First, AI-Driven World?
... dominant category? Would love to hear your perspective. Comment from Alex Cloudstar(@alex_cloudstar): Great question. As a user, I still install native apps, but only when they clearly offer a better experience than a browser can. Tools like VS Code or Raycast come to mind. But the convenience of web apps has definitely raised the bar. From a builder's point of view, I think there's still a place for native desktop software. It makes the most sense

Founders in stealth / pre-launch - why? (+ dinner in SF!)
... here. Startups aren't a race. They're a marathon in an idea maze, and you're far more likely to reach a dead end and kill your startup that way than you are to be crushed by a competitor. Okay, so if launch early and launch often is the 90th percentile advice, there are still cases where it makes sense

PS: Im a solopreneur so I have limited resources, I cant be pursuing products that make no sense number-wise. Cheeeeeers ! What are your traffic sources? Generally ... ... whether that conversion is more expensive than your product. Is a university degree still worth it if you're building a business?
... that I perceive: A rigid system that does not support thinking outside the box. Can prevent full entrepreneurship. A lot of sunk money on something that you may not even enjoy and will use in the future (in the sense you will not be working in a particular sector). When is the right time to introduce regional pricing?
... Pricing has been one of the trickiest parts of building a SaaS product for me especially deciding when to introduce regional pricing. Some markets are super price-sensitive, while others don t mind paying more for the right features. It s a tough balance set prices too high, and you lose potential customers; too low, and profitability takes a hit. I ve seen companies like Zoho and Chargebee roll out regional pricing early to stay competitive, while Salesforce and Atlassian ... ... have mostly stuck to global pricing, with Salesforce offering regional discounts in some cases. That got me thinking when does it actually make sense
