When should you submit your product on Product Hunt?
... question almost every founder asks before launch: When do I need to submit my product if I want to launch on a specific day? The truth is: the earlier, the better. Why? Because it doesn t matter how polished your assets are on day one. If you plan to launch two months from now, you can keep updating your copy, images, and videos anytime. Nothing is final until launch day. By submitting early, you unlock two big advantages ... ... building interest. You have time to notify friends, supporters, and early users so they re ready to back you when launch day comes. Bottom line: submit early, refine continuously. What s your approach : do you prep way ahead or polish

Are founders too obsessed with branding before they have a product?
... seen founders spend weeks (sometimes months) polishing logos, color palettes, and taglines before they ve written a single line of code or spoken to a customer. On the other hand, I ve also seen startups whose brand presence got them credibility, early press, and investor meetings even before launch. Personally, I like good optics. The visual promise, even before interacting with the product, says a lot. You can tell in my case from our website . A well-chosen color scheme ... ... obsessing over branding early on just procrastination disguised as productivity? Or is it a strategic move to position yourself in a crowded market from day one? If you re building now, how much time are you putting into branding versus

What’s your favorite social platform in 2025?
... videos, the algorithm is still incredibly sharp, and it hasn t been completely overrun by bots (yet). Twitter/X? Great for ideas, but lately it s become a place full with bots. Impossible to reach out real people. LinkedIn? Too polished. Too look at my career highlight reel. Facebook? Feels like it s slowly turning into a place for 50+ and local buy/sell groups. What about you: where do you actually enjoy spending time online these days ? Comment from Aleksandar Blazhev ... ... there is so much opportunity for businesses to scale as I know I am not the only one! Comment from Chris Surita(@csurita): I'd actually say YouTube. I like finding great content from lesser known creators thats really polished

🛠️ Makers, how do you actually know when it’s ready to launch?
... been in the almost done zone for a while now, that weird spot between polishing features, fixing edge cases, and suddenly rethinking the UI at 2AM. I ve got the Launching Soon badge on my profile now, and I m both hyped and slightly terrified. So I m asking the community: How do you decide it s ready to ship? Do you wait for perfect or launch fast and iterate? What gave you the confidence to hit publish? Would love ... ... launch Comment from Jordan(@jordansvision): If you're thinking this hard, I feel like that's valuable time you could've used to launch. It's actually good that people see your work's imperfections. That way, as you polish

Why 'Simulate' AI user tests with Velocity?
... more tests, more frequently, without burning through your budget. Early-Stage Insights : One of the most significant advantages is the ability to use them as "thinking partners" in the earliest stages of your design. You don't need a polished, complete prototype. In fact, using simulations when your designs are still rough around the edges is ideal. They can quickly uncover unclear interfaces or unintended gaps, helping you refine your design before it's too late (and costly) to make ... ... changes. A smart alternative

We vibe coded a site to test developer's for skill atrophy due to reliance on AI 🫢
... mistake (when challenged) Even when being explicit about what you want to change the AI can start making changes to unrelated files and elements. Be vigilant! I found the results page to be completely broken after spending time polishing another page , and was left in the dilemma of how to revert. Often after making direct edits in the codebase, it will throw a runtime error after saving. Causing the AI to begin a "fix" which often includes undoing the changes ... ... towards the end after requesting those menu items in the navbar. This custom boilerplate content was based on previous conversations on the tone of voice which delivered a pretty good "one shot" that could then be trimmed, primped and polished

AI + manual control in Trickle
... Edit, a visual editing mode that lets you click on any element (text, image, layout block) and adjust it directly. No tokens spent. No regeneration needed. Why we made this AI gives you speed. But when it comes to polishing spacing, font tweaks, alignment, prompts become clunky. We realized: instead of forcing users to prompt even for small things, why not just let them click and adjust? Now with Direct Edit , you can: - Select any element with a single click ... ... only when you need it. Who it s for: - Creators who use AI to build, but still want control - Designers tired of regenerating the whole page for small tweaks - Makers looking to move fast but still care about polish

Unpopular opinion: Most SaaS founders overbuild. The MVP era is dead.
... about it: 1/ We used to ship MVPs barebone, ugly, functional. The goal? Validate fast, fail faster. But look around Product Hunt today Every launch looks like Apple made it. 2/ Clean UI Blazing speed Brand voice on point Polished onboarding flows Even beta products are dripping with love. Why? Because Minimum Viable is no longer enough. 3/ We re in the age of the Minimum Lovable Product (MLP). People don t just want it to work. They want ... ... Build fast or build lovable? Shipping early gets feedback. Shipping refined builds trust. What s the right balance? 5/ So I want to ask the Product Hunt tribe: Would you rather: A. Launch raw and iterate in public B. Polish

Maker's profile is their product/business and not an actual user account Tagline does not describe the product ie. If you can quickly Google a solution that similar to what you're launching then really make sure your launch stands out. Focus on highlighting what's special about your product vs

What It Really Takes to Succeed on Product Hunt
... some - from my journey: . A strong launch starts well before the launch day. For every successful campaign, weeks (or even months) of preparation go into: -Crafting a standout tagline and description. -Polishing visuals (screenshots, videos, or GIFs) to tell your story at a glance. -Building relationships with your audience, potential supporters, and influencers. I have found that products with a clear and compelling why resonate more with the Product Hunt community ... ... gives your product the longest exposure on the homepage. -Avoid clashing with major holidays or highly anticipated launches. But don t overthink it. I have also learned that an imperfect launch at the right time can outperform a perfectly polished
