Horizontal vs Vertical: What’s the smarter positioning for a Product Hunt launch?
... messaging to make it resonate with a wider audience? How did it work out for you? Curious to learn from your experience Comment from Linh Pham(@banglinhpham): When a product is launched with a 'horizontal' message, it can get lost in the noise; although it might get many initial upvotes from a general audience. A narrowly-focused, vertical product, on the other hand, creates a stronger, more committed following. You'll likely see more meaningful comments, questions, and feedback from ...

As an ex-CFO - I lost 85lbs in 8 months. How do you stay active while building?
... turned things around by focusing on small habits and making fitness social joining run clubs, playing pickleball, and using my wearable to stay accountable with friends. (The Today Show website & Lifetime covered my story here!) I lost 85lbs in 8 months, and the biggest game changer was social accountability. That inspired me to leave finance and build WeFit Labs, a platform that turns your Apple Watch or wearable into a way to move with others through challenges, leaderboards ...

Are startup accelerators still worth it in 2025?
... having YC or another respected accelerator on your resume still opens doors. Investors, partners, and press take notice. So yeah: information is free. But context, accountability, and community still matter. A lot. What s your take? Have accelerators lost their edge or are they just evolving with the times? Comment from Aleksandar Blazhev(@byalexai): @adi_singh5  Did you apply already? Comment from Ethan Noblesala(@enoblesala): @byalexai  - they actually have a bunch of different locations! I'll be based ... ... need to offer more than generic advice or a badge. The best ones now act more like co-builders: connecting you to customers, shaping your GTM, pressure-testing your deck, etc. So no, I don t think they ve lost

Would You Still Build Your Product If It Didn't Make Money?
... simple web apps; for example a web-app to quickly send a thank you or appreciation to anyone, without them requiring to download any app. Of course - the product never made any money. Over the next few months; I lost the will to keep building it. People were using it; but it wasn't growing exponentially. Eventually, I stopped building it - and killed it. Looking back, maybe I should have kept building it and let it grow ... ... sustain me long term, I'd rather build something else. Comment from Mark Frain(@mark_nosho): Interesting thought. I love to create and if I'm not designing, creating and building something I tend to feel a little lost

🔥 How long is your streak?
... Mine s at 858 days and it s personal. Currently sitting at 858 days which puts me at #29 on the Product Hunt streak leaderboard. But here's the kicker: I once lost a streak of around 150+ days due to a slip-up. If that hadn t happened, I d likely be in the top 10 right now. Still stings a little Funny thing about the streak leaderboard it s kind of a zero-sum game. Like ... ... think about this competitive patience mechanic? Is it fair? Is it fun? Let s talk streaks And last but not the least what's the value you obtain from the streak? Comment from Michal Bal ianka(@wreit): I lost

Does anyone else feel like the world, especially tech, has lost its color and soul?
... different. Best, Jordan Poyner-Rouse, Founder of MVP.ai Comment from Manuel Zarroca(@manuelzarroca): I couldn't agree more. Tech is now super transactional, and it seems like there is homogeneity in the digital world. It seems like we've lost track of creativity and just rush to launch something that will make money. I also feel terrible that tech has an enormous environmental impact, and only a handful of small brands are focused on minimising their impacts while still offering ... ... something that's actually, valuable, useful, and hasn't lost

🎧 ResonanceX – A Chartable Alternative to Help Podcasters Track Growth
