What’s one problem at home you wish technology could solve?

We (Intecular.com) develop products designed to quietly improve everyday life, and it’s had me thinking a lot about the little frustrations we just… live with.

So, here’s my question:

What’s one daily annoyance or pain point at home you wish technology could solve — but hasn’t yet?

Could be something in how you control your space.

Maybe a habit you wish was automated.

Or just a small thing that bugs you every day.

No idea is too simple (or too weird). I’d love to hear your answers — both for inspiration and honest curiosity.

This question made me pause and realize how many small frustrations I've just adapted to.

One that stands out: fridge restocking. Not the actual delivery part, just the subtle nudge that says 'hey, you're almost out of coriander and milk.' A calm assistant that notices pattern and prompts you before the gap hits would be magic.

@vivek_sharma_25 Great idea!

What about a smart fridge/kitchen tracker that solves my 'what’s actually in here?' dilemma! I’d love tech that:

  • Alerts me before food expires (especially before those forgotten veggies rot)

  • Suggests recipes based on ingredients I already have

  • Scans my condiment shelf so I don’t buy my 5th bottle of soy sauce

Basically, a food memory bank for my overstuffed brain. Bonus if it can gently shame me about that 3-week-old takeout container! 😅

@rani_zagita Absolutely! Such a practical idea — it would save us so much time (and reduce food waste too!). 🙌

@rani_zagita Yes! Great idea to reduce food waste.

@rani_zagita I desperately need this thing too! 😄

It’s a bit weird one but a technology that would just observe the entire home or daily routine and then advise what all could be made better with price comparisons and product/service providers

@manu_goel2 Very interesting! Sounds a bit like an AI home automation feature we're building.

Cooking healthy dishes :D

But I think that physical stuff is hard to automate. For now :)

One daily pain point I haven’t seen solved well is automated water management in Indian homes.

We still rely on someone remembering to turn the motor on, check the water level in the tank, then turn it off before it overflows or worse, burns out the pump.

There are workarounds with sensors and timers, but they’re clunky, not reliable across weather conditions, and definitely not plug-and-play.

In a country where water is precious, it feels like this should have been a solved problem by now.

Would love to see tech that quietly handles this senses tank levels, adapts to local electricity timings, maybe even syncs with municipal water supply patterns.

Feels simple… but no one’s nailed it yet.

@priyanka_gosai1 Thank you for sharing this issue!

It may sound bizarre, but automatic waste categorization! I am trying to make my family members sort out different types of plastic, cartons, glass, bottles, etc. I have made a list of things that should go into the certain containers, but no one reads.. obviously :) So like a smart scanning system that would say that it should go here or here would be awesome, especially for the older generations

@dariawind Great idea!

Would love a solution to find things I just had- keys, remote, charger- without "bulky" trackers like AirTags. Something smaller, ambient, and seamless.

A litter box that completely takes care of itself — cleaning, deodorizing, even telling me if something’s off with my cat’s health. Pet tech still has a long way to go!

Thanks for the great question! I'd add something like: letting me know when something's about to break or become dangerous — like electrical issues, or a pipe that's about to burst. That kind of heads-up could help us avoid a lot of disasters I guess.
