Somo is great for a meeting with friends, especially due to the ETA feature. You can see when your friends arrive, when your friends will pick you up and how you return home. Obviously for 2-3 friends this is not a pain point, but think of parties, and bigger gatherings where the organization and how to get there is messy and cumbersome
A lot of apps attempt to solve this, but don't go the extra mile of actually providing the various options of transportation to and from the event (including pricing and ordering it from advance). This is the killer feature here - you aren't bound to *one* taxi company or need an array of apps to see which one will get you to your destination faster. You see all the options and how much it will cost you - in time and money.
This app definitely has a place in my phone
Meets a need I have been hoping someone would jump in on (giving me a way to coordinate a ride with my friends without a million text messages.) I carpool my kids and their friends to a bunch of sports and activities and this is a nice arrow in my suburban warrior arsenal to make that way less complex logistically.
