Sociway is a social travel app to plan your trips, join events, and meet travelers nearby. Create itineraries, connect with others on the road, and explore cities together. Travel solo, never feel alone. Be social on the way. 🌍✈️
Hello Product Hunt!
The app we’ve been working on for a long time is finally live, and I’d love to share a bit about the story behind it.
I first came up with the idea for Sociway when I was 18 — back when I had just started hitchhiking and really embraced the spirit of travel culture.
At the time, building it wasn’t feasible. Years passed, and I watched similar ideas emerge and grow into great products.
But as someone who grew up with this mindset, the desire to create something in this space never left me.
Years later, while walking down a street in Morocco with a friend, I said:
“There’s this idea I’ve had in my head for a while — what do you think?”
That spark turned into something real.
As soon as we returned to Turkey, we dove into it — from the concept and user flow to the design and development, we put serious effort into every step.
To avoid delaying the launch, we made a conscious effort to temper our perfectionism and just ship it.
And yes… Sociway is now live! 🎉
It’s a platform that helps travelers plan trips, find travel buddies, and connect by creating or joining local events.
🔥 As a special thank you to the Product Hunt community, we’re offering a free 1-month premium trial for early users. Just use the code PRODUCT100 when signing up!

@mustafakucuk Will this be available worldwide or will it roll out city by city?
How does Sociway deal with last-minute changes in plans? Like what happens if someone decides to bail on an event or meetup while they’re traveling?
@matthew_phillips4 Spontaneity is part of travel, but so are last-minute changes 😅
In Sociway, event hosts and attendees can update their RSVP status anytime. If someone cancels, the event updates in real time and notifies the host or group.
For public meetups, others can still join or see the updated attendee list. For private events, the host has more control. We’re also working on lightweight communication tools (like in-app messaging and check-in prompts) to help people coordinate better and avoid no-shows.
Any features you’d personally find helpful for smoother last-minute changes?
It is like the perfect buddy for solo travelers looking to connect. How do you make sure safety and trust are prioritized when users are meeting up especially in new cities?
@samuel_morris That means a lot — thank you! 🙏
Sociway was literally built with solo travelers in mind, so safety and trust are huge priorities for us.
Here’s how we approach it right now:
• Verified email
• Users can report or block others anytime
• Event hosts have full control over visibility and participation
We’re currently working on:
• Profile trust signals (badges, mutuals, past events)
• Optional identity verification
• A lightweight reputation system based on behavior and community feedback
Our goal is to make it feel like you’re meeting a friend-of-a-friend — even in a city you’ve never been to.
