Hey everyone! @aquavitae and I are excited to show off Boring Report, a product we've worked hard on for the past couple of weeks. In today's world, catchy headlines and articles often distract readers from the actual facts and relevant information. Our solution was an app that uses AI language models to process news articles and transform them into the content that you see. For example, here is a headline transformation found on the app: "Same world, different planet: Trump’s arrest lays bare US polarization" → "Donald Trump's arrest highlights deep political polarization in the US" Our app contains transformed titles and summaries, and while they are not a substitute for the original article, the service aims to provide an alternative to today’s media landscape. Additional points about this project: - We're working on providing this service in more channels, such as Android and browser extensions, so stay tuned! - We're also planning to add language and locality support to cater content more effectively to users from different regions and languages, ensuring a more personalized and accessible experience. - Follow us on Twitter for upcoming announcements and updates: https://twitter.com/boringreport We are looking for feedback on improving the product, so give it a try and let us know!

@vaskal08 great job. Love the format

@vaskal08 @aquavitae I wonder how you intend to improve the real time nature of the reports. For example a report this morning is about a 'forthcoming' Arsenal-Liverpool game on Sunday that already took place. I would have expected the news about that game today to have been about the result. Is the app not generating them in real time yet?

@stephen_smith67 Thank you, glad you enjoy the format! In terms of the real time nature of the feed, there is a bit of a delay given the need to run articles through the AI. We plan to implement analysis of the articles to improve the feed in a few key ways: 1. improve relevancy of the articles for the users interests 2. relevancy given the user's locality 3. related to your question, process and surface articles closer to the date that the events happen.

As a person who dislikes being charmed by catchy headlines this looks very promising. Btw do not really understand the way it works on my iPhone. Is it an extension for some mobile browser?

@ars_chet Hello! Here are two approaches for using the iOS app: 1. Browse various articles within the app, covering a wide range of categories. Each article includes a desensationalized summary and a link to its source. 2. When reading an article in your mobile browser, share it with Boring Report to generate a concise, "boring" summary. Thank you for your support!
