What do you think? …

Olivier Brückner
Hey everyone! I am Olivier, one of the creators of blokdots, together with Christoph and Marcus. I am really excited to finally share blokdots 2.0. We have been working on it for quite a while! We are designers and love to create integrated physical interfaces or connected products. But working with hardware often is difficult and programming can be a hurdle to get started. So, we wanted to make working with hardware as easy as creating UI prototypes has become with design tools like Figma. With blokdots, industrial and interaction designers—but of course, everyone—can create no-code/low-code prototypes with Arduino and even connect them to app prototyping apps built in ProtoPie or Figma within seconds! Our app helps you find the correct pins when setting up a component, translating original values in a human-readable format and lets you add logic to your prototype. We really love building tools and want to enable others to create their products and prototype them! Using blokdots’ core feature set is free, some more advanced components and the connections to other tools require a pro license. But you can start exploring with the 14-day trial and this week, we even give you 50% off your first three months if you choose to buy a pro license! Let us know what you think 😊

High quality software when working with hardware is hard to come by and Blokdots goes above and beyond. This looks like a great update — congrats on the launch!

@aaronabentheuer Thank you Aaron – that means a lot to us coming from you. :)

Blokdots has truly brought back the DIY spirit in me. A big double thumbs up to the creators! Look at the beauty of the Map component interface. Going to get my old, rarely used Ardunio now. Thanks for coming up with the substance:id case study. Inspiring!

@michael_schieben Thanks! We are always super happy when users share their projects with us, and Niklas’s and Joel’s project truly highlighted how you can use blokdots to quickly prototype ideas and the validate them through user testing. We’d love to see what you’ll come up with with your Arduino! 😊
