Hey Product Hunt 👋 I've had this project hidden away somewhere in my computer for a couple of years now, so I decided I might as well try to polish it up a bit and share it with the world. It's a motion graphics editor like After Effects, but modeled after tools like Canva or Kapwing, with an asset browser that you can use to search for images, videos, and more to add into your project. The way it works is very simple. Drop your assets into the canvas, position them however you like, and enable animation by clicking on the clock icon on the layers (or individual properties if you prefer). You create new keyframes automatically by seeking to a time point and changing the properties of the layer. I wrote up a bit of a guide in Notion that you can check out here. Here are some of its features: ⚡️ Keyframing with custom easing 🎚 Image and video filters (adjustments, blur, chroma key...) ✂️ Trim and cut videos 👀 Layer masking 🔊 Audio support 🔍 Search for images, videos, shapes and more ✨ Text animation (typewriter, scale, fade...) 💥 Lottie support 🧩 Pixabay integration ...and much more - all for free & no sign in needed! I shared a lot of my progress building this editor in my newsletter, if you're curious. Ultimately while I had a lot of plans for it, I realized that it was far too challenging to work with the old and outdated codebase, and I would have had to rewrite the whole thing from zero using some framework to make any substantial progress with it. So I decided to just launch it as is, for free and without any fancy gimmicks. The code is available on GitHub if you'd like to contribute to Motionity, self-host it, or build your own motion graphics editor.

Good, an alternative if I couldn't use Alight Motion to pay fees for watermark deletion. But this? This? Is what I wanted. Free software is always my favorites and I could appreciate it. I used this for the straight 2 months and it didn't came out a single error. Good job.

Motionity's UI is beautiful and modern. Importing assets is quick and easy. It can even import multiple assets at a time. However, It is unreliable and janky at times. It seems user-friendly but proves to be very challenging to use. The controls are very confusing and there is little to no helpful tutorials available. The Notion page that has instructions for the platform aren't very helpful. Even just adding a keyframe is a pain. The problems I had with the ease of use may be because my PC specs are laughable, but even so, developers should keep lower-end devices in mind when creating their programs. If the software's ease of use improved, however, I would definitely consider using it again.
