AI App Store – A better way to discover AI tools (without the chaos)

Hi all! I’m working on an idea that came out of my own frustration:

There are SO many AI tools right now – for writing, meetings, code, design, finance – but it’s getting overwhelming.

Even though I’m deep in the AI world, I still find myself Googling things like: “Best AI tools for solo founders”; “Free AI video editing apps”; “Is this tool even legit?”

So here’s the vision:

A clean, trustworthy “AI App Store” that helps you:

• Discover tools by category (marketing, ops, content, etc.)

• Filter by popularity, pricing, or even real user reviews

• See side-by-side comparisons and demos

• Bookmark tools you love, share ones you recommend

Bonus: maybe plug in your workflow (like “I run a newsletter” or “I’m a product designer”) and get a personalized AI tool stack.

Would this be helpful? Or are people fine just using Google + random Reddit threads?

And what would make it actually worth coming back to?

Your idea is good, but I believe sooner or later Appstore will be introduce these features in their app. Plus there is also a website where everyone can list their AI product with category.

@nabeel_amir Fair point but execution beats prediction. If Marija builds a faster, more focused, trust-driven discovery experience before the giants do, she can own the niche. Speed + UX > waiting for big platforms to catch up.

@nabeel_amir  @adi_singh5 That is such a great mindset shift - thanks a lot for your input! I will take this with me!

@nabeel_amir Thanks for your thoughts - you’re absolutely right, the big platforms might eventually catch up. But I believe timing, focus, and user experience matter more than size. Most current directories feel like dumping grounds - no real curation, no personalization, and definitely no trust layer. I’m aiming for something more purposeful: an AI App Store that feels like it was built for real users, not just for listings.

Absolutely love this, Marija! 🔍 There’s real value in cutting through the AI noise — Google and Reddit are chaotic at best. A clean, curated, trust-first AI App Store sounds like a must-have, especially if it nails personalized stacks. I'd use it weekly.

@adi_singh5 Thank you so much – that means a lot! 🙌 I totally agree, the AI space is exploding with tools, but the signal-to-noise ratio is wild. Totally agree with you, a trustworthy space where people can actually find what they need - without the fluff.

Love this, totally feel the overload too. Personally, I'd be a lot more excited about the personalization feature within something like this rather than helping me discover the generally, best products out there. Totally would use, something to help me cut through the mountain of AI tools out there for the best ones that I need.

@dheerajdotexe Exactly personalization is the unlock. Discovery’s great, but surfacing the right tools for your workflow is what actually drives retention. Huge potential here.

@dheerajdotexe  @adi_singh5 Thanks a lot for your feedback - I will take this into consideration!

Yes to this! Even while building in AI, I constantly find myself Googling “best AI tools for X” and then getting lost in Reddit threads and half-baked lists.

I think the real unlock here is trust + context. Discovery is great, but retention will come from things like:

  • Tool stacks based on real workflows (“how 3 solo founders launch with AI”)

  • Filters to hide tools I’ve already tried or don’t trust

  • Recommendations from people in my niche (I’d love a healthtech founder’s stack)

We’re thinking a lot about this too at Tiny Command especially how to recommend workflows, not just apps. Would love to see how you’re approaching it!
