Whats's the most effective way to conduct a user research keeping the engagement alive till the end?

Hi Everyone! Smartivity has always encouraged children to develop their abilities by emphasising the principle of "Learning by Doing". Our products have been quite successful in this mission for over 7 years now. Now we want to address the problem of lack of behavioural skill development in today s kids by making an app based on SEL(Social Emotional Learning) framework. Now, before we proceed to build the app, we need to to make sure that the framework and activities are effective enough to teach the kids the relevant skills. 1. How to effectively reach out to potential users with mix of personas? 2. How to ensure the engagement throughout this period? 3. Whats the optimum no. of users to be tested with? Details of research- 12 activities (15-20 min each) followed by feedback form for 3-4 weeks. User Demographic: Parents with children of age group 6-12 years.
