Once UI launches today 🚀 AMA about design systems and designer-developer collaboration 🔥
Hey there! I'm Lorant, one of the makers behind Once UI, a powerful and adaptable design system & UI kit for Figma. I'm excited to share our latest product with the Product Hunt community. We built Once UI to address some common pain points we noticed in existing design systems, such as difficulty in adoption and scaling issues as teams and products grow. Check out our launch https://www.producthunt.com/post... I'm here to answer all your questions about design systems, designer-developer collaboration, and of course, Once UI. Whether you're curious about the technical aspects, best practices, or anything in between, feel free to ask away!
Using design tokens?
Hey makers, There's been a lot of buzz around design tokens recently, and Figma has also just introduced variables - their native solution for managing tokens and themes. Have any of you tried it out? What did you think? We've already incorporated them (along with more of the latest Figma features) into Once UI: https://once-ui.com/ Plus also working on a guide for design tokens, to help designers get the foundations right.
Do you maintain a Figma prototype of your product?
I know that many designers and design teams struggle with maintaining a high-fidelity prototype of their product, and they think the invested work doesn't pay out. I think with the right approach the prototype should be a byproduct of the design workflow, and it represents the user flow much better than static screen designs. Having a prototype to explain your product to non-technical people, like investors can be a huge benefit for an early stage startup. We've launched Templates for Once UI to provide a framework for crafting high fidelity prototypes. Learn more about it in our recent launch: https://www.producthunt.com/post... What's your take? Do you think your business would benefit from a high fidelity prototype of your product?
