Is it really important to build a community around your product?

Working in a community filled with fans and brand advocates could be an excellent way to get your product out there! The problem is, that everyone who has tried knows that the process takes a lot of work, planning, and creativity Launching a new product is already quite challenging, and building a community in parallel seems like an ambitious move. How well do you think building a community around a product works? If you have already tried it, how did it go?

Which channel is working best for you for leads/sales? Would you recommend Quora, Reddit, Twitter..?

Hey there! I'm considering to expand my lead generation to new channels for my business (SaasZilla). Right now we are strong on Facebook with our own community, but I have heard good things about Quora and Reddit (considering also the Twitter option which seems to be a solid one with all that people *yes, even if there are bots, Elon... :P ). So I'm keen to see if anyone here has had significant success with any of them! As in, how much time do you spend and what kind of results you have had? Love any information or articles to point me to as well :) Thanks :)
