About
Deeply inspired by the Builders and Supporters on Product Hunt, I've just started out on my journey as an Indie Hacker along with running my startup full-time and am looking forward to sharing my journey with the Product Hunt Community and learning from everyone along this path. Also, if you are looking for help with your Y Combinator application or the post-application referral, I would be happy to support! :) I launched 2 products till now - TabSherpa.ai (Automatic Email summaries of open tabs when you close the browser) and BookmarkPilot.ai (Search and Export your X/Twitter Bookmarks).

Why are more Indian developers not building Indie side projects?
Hi Folks, Being a full-stack developer is like having a quiver full of arrows , and being an Indian full-stack developer means these arrows are generally always aimed at someone else s targets! This is the narrative I would like to change. Because, I believe that Indian engineers (or self-taught coders like me) have great potential to come up with useful products but get stuck within the software services mindset, which is seeded from the day they enter college and cemented when they get placed. To start doing my bit, I first wanted to understand more about the whys. This is why I would really like to know what is it that stops us Indian developers from launching at least one side project every year? In my case, it was plain inertia. I cannot say it was a lack of time which stopped me because the one thing I have learnt about time is that it can always be managed for things we like. Eg. My first launch took time from May to September. The second launch was done by November and this month, I will be launching another product. [And I find time to work on my side projects for a few hours and only on some nights as I am a full-time startup founder with a family and a new baby and who's always traveling for work. But I've realised that I love coding and it makes me reach my flow state and also makes me very, very happy.] Probably, Infosys/Wipro/TCS/CTS have close to a million software engineers together (not at all accurate as I guesstimated at around 200k per company and just to highlight that it is a big number.) so where are the amazing Indian indie products? Shouldn't we be doing more? Let's not forget Product Hunt itself was a side project and look how it has changed the world! Looking forward to your thoughts and comments or even if you would just like to state the why behind you not working on side projects, that would be awesome too! Have a great day! Joginder
What are the biggest risks that you have taken for your start-up?
For me I think everything is at risk but it's just a matter of pushing harder and believing in what you have.
