How do you manage working with AI/ML teams?

In previous companies, the AI guys took a really really long time for research (over a year for a first version, insane). I'm working on a new product and to move quickly, we mostly worked with off-the-shelf libraries to get initial results before we go into deep research. What other tips do you have for shipping AI products out quickly? --- I also wrote more about my experience here if anyone's interested: https://guybarner.medium.com/goo...

How do you interview PM candidates for technical abilities?

I've been interviewing a lot of PMs lately, mostly mid-senior level, and have noticed that it was often hard to determine their level of technical ability during the regular interview. What's your trick for figuring this out? It's especially important for highly technical companies, and if the candidate's background is more in UX/marketing. I've personally started working with a short exercise I created, maybe it can help others too, but I really want to hear more ideas as I don't think it fully covers it. You can see my take here: https://guybarner.medium.com/the...

How did you acquire your first paying customer?

Getting early customers for your product isn't easy - they need to buy into your vision and get a ton of value from your product. Let me know if you have any inspiring (or lucky ) stories about how you attracted and closed on your first paying customer!
