I'm Rosie, I've built a 7 fig business, led community at IH, now building a community @Orbit. AMA 🔥
Hey everyone! I'm Rosie Sherry and I love building communities. I started about 15 years ago with meetups, I then started Ministry of Testing and boostrapped that to $1.5M annual revenue over 10 years. I still (co)own, but don't run the business day to day. I led the community over at Indie Hackers for a couple of years. More recently I started Rosieland, a community for community builders. This has evolved over the past couple of years, from a newsletter, to a paid newsletter and now to a community with a 'community garden' approach. Rosieland is still my side-gig as I recently joined Orbit
How to build community around a new product
Curious how people go about building community around a new product. I'm sure there's no go-to way about doing this, but maybe someone here would like to share their story?
NoCode or BroCode?
The other day, I was explaining how NoCode website builder works to a friend and after 5 minutes of explanation; he was like "If it's easy - why can't you do it quickly for me?". I noticed that `no code` still requires you to learn things a bit; and not everyone is willing to invest time and efforts. Made me think - there seems to be a market for assisted no-code; and I'm going to call it 'BroCode' :-D. Where a bro helps you get things done using no-code tools. What say you?
