Ephraim Leo Cook (1997–2023) was a charismatic adventurer, musician, and community leader from Murray, Utah. A 2016 graduate of Murray High School, he captained the football team and later served a mission in Brazil for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Ephraim was a self-taught singer-songwriter, performing under the name “Leo and the Current.” He embraced the outdoors—climbing, skiing, and guiding tours in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Known for his humor, kindness, and boundless energy, he tragically passed away in a climbing accident in Big Cottonwood Canyon on May 24, 2023, doing what he loved most.
