I was banned on Twitter. Where to go now?
Hi! Yesterday morning, I opened my to-do list. There was one nagging task that I have been delaying for months: reply to all DMs on Twitter. There were roughly 100 missed DMs. People reach me out often there. Half of them ask questions about my project. The other half wants me to upvote their thing on Product Hunt. To people who need me to press "Upvote" I reply with a template. Here it is: > "Hey! I supported you (put my upvote) Good luck on your launch. P.S. Check my YouTube channel about launching on Product Hunt. I made an entire playlist of videos about this:
I also tell there about how to grow startups with $0 budget." So I sent this text to roughly 25 people who asked me for an upvote. And got my account permanently suspended. I'm also disallowed to create a new account > Your account is permanently in read-only mode, which means you can t post, Repost, or Like content. You won t be able to create new accounts. Lessons: 1) According to the Twitter's documentation, your account gets blocked after 500 DMs. But I barely sent 50 DMs. Be careful. 2) Do not send copy-paste. Type. 3) The most important: you do not own your Twitter account. Do not put all eggs in 1 basket. P.S.: I at least now I do not have to watch/read the 3 twitter courses I bought Question: what are some places to post my stuff? LinkedIn is cringey. Facebook is Facebook. Looking to try Polywork, Peerlist (modern LinkedIn clones) and niched communities (Solo Founders, WIP, Makerlog).Where to list/submit your startup ⬇️
Product Hunt is the best platform. I want to post my thoughts on Product Hunt instead of Twitter.
Here at Product Hunt I feel like at home. It is my place. You are my people. I want to share takeaways from my maker's experience here. I mostly tell about $0 marketing, AI SEO, growing SaaS etc. But there is no technical ability to make a post. There is one obvious way to post on Product Hunt: make a discussion. But it is not convenient because there is no way to read topics only from people I follow. The Discussion tab is more like a round table for everyone. The place page to meet new people. So here are my simple suggestions. I'm going to discuss on a call with a Product Hunt product manager later today, but I also want the public to judge it: 1) Add an ability to filter Discussions (see only topics from the people you follow). 2) Add an ability to attach images to a Discussion. 3) Show my Discussions feed on my Product Hunt account page (not after clicking the Activity tab). These 3 simple steps will bring people here on Product Hunt to post valuable content, not only products.
