Mid-career folks, what do you feel like you're lacking most in your career?

Being a remote employee in their late-20s is great in a lot of ways. I can be insanely productive throughout the day, I m in a position where I have a ton of autonomy. No commuting. No work social activities that you feel like you have to attend. The list goes on. However - it still feels like I m missing something. I did a lot of introspective thinking about this and I think I came to a realization. I think a lot of my dissatisfaction comes from not being connected to near-peers (people in a similar spot in their careers) and not being able to learn from them. I ve had a few recent conversations with friends about their jobs and what they re doing on a day-to-day basis. I learned about how engineering teams are structured at series A startups. How one of my friends is building a marketplace for SRECs completely with No-Code tools. Another friend explained IBOR to me and why Real Estate funds care about it. I realized that I got a ton of energy and excitement from each of those conversations. I learned about a few new tools (one of which I even started using for Scenthound s tech stack). And I don t think it would be an exaggeration to say that those conversations were some of the most educational conversations I ve had in a very long time. In my current role, my days usually consist of putting out fires, testing software, running meetings, and when I m lucky, some heads down time to start building something. There s almost never scheduled or dedicated time on my calendar just for learning or exploring. Anyone else experiencing something similar? How are you dealing with it?

Quarterly PM salary & satisfaction index?

Thinking of starting a side project: a quarterly index on Product Manager salaries, job satisfaction, and skills. Anonymous survey free summary for participants Thoughts? Would this be useful to you? anything else I should include?

question for fellow PM's

I'm thinking of starting a side project: a quarterly index on PM salaries, job satisfaction, and skills. Anonymous survey free report for all participants Thoughts? Would this be useful to you? any interesting things you would want to see in it beside comp, satisfaction, etc?
