Descriptions for APIs - Looking for (developer's) opinions
Hi everyone, We are experimenting with ways to better describe the utility APIs that we building and publishing for our users. Please note that the audience is developers, so i am looking for their feedback. (I kind of like the 2nd option , just not sure how it comes across to developers) So here we are: Example: An API that generates a QR code About the API (1st option) The Generate QR Code API saves you the hassle of writing extra lines of code and allows you to create QR codes within seconds that can be easily integrated with your applications. The API can convert plain text or links into a QR code PNG file and customizes the output as a downloadable PNG as well as a URL pointing to the newly created PNG file that can be shared with your target audience. About the API (2nd option) Hello! I am Apyhub's Generate QR Code API. I exist to save you the hassle of writing extra lines of code to produce QR codes. Push me to generate dynamic QR codes for your applications within seconds. All I need is the text you wish to display or a link if you prefer to whatever you want your QR code to point to and I return a brand new personalized QR code as an output. What's more? You can choose how you want me to customize the outputs. I can produce PNGs and can also give you URLs. I am pretty easy to use, but feel free to read on to know more about the very few parameters I need to be customized to your requirements. Thanks!
what i learnt the first 30 days of having a platform live
It's now been a month that #ApyHub is live (we haven't launched on PH yet). Here are some key things I ve learnt along the way: Being live is being open for feedback. I am amazed by the quantity as well as the depth of the feedback that we are getting. We don't have a gazillion bugs - which means that we should have probably gone live a bit earlier. Launching a product is not a one time, linear process. It is a circular one, with unlimited feedback loops and milestones. User #activation is as important as user #acquisition . What defined this month is not only what we did but what we decided not to do (for now). As a #developer platform, creating transparency about the platform s #reliability is absolutely crucial - so we introduced a public status page: https://status.apyhub.com/ Bonus: We now have our own superhero (wearing a utility belt). Say hi to Apy (in the link below)! (We are open to hearing your suggestions about other possible names). At the same time we keep preparing for the #producthunt launch. Below is our upcoming page so you can be notified when we launch! https://www.producthunt.com/upco...
How to not cut your finger by asking for help
This weekend, I was trying to peel and cut some carrots while having a meeting at the same time. I could have asked for help from my friend. But I didn't. So now my finger has a bandage on it. Key Takeaways: Never multitask with a sharp knife Ask for help if you need it (asking for help will not guarantee it but not asking for it guarantees that you will not get it) So, here i am, trying to keep (the rest of) my fingers intact: We're preparing for our first Product Hunt launch in the coming few weeks (specific date to follow). Feel free to have a look at our upcoming page and subscribe! This will help us enormously when we launch, on the 22nd of November. https://www.producthunt.com/upco... Cheers, Nikolas
