My first launch experience! (Dictation app for Mac!!)
Yesterday was a rollercoaster!
I launched Supavoice - a voice-to-text dictation app for Mac powered by OpenAI's cutting-edge O3 models.
The response has been incredible:
Climbed to #7 product of the day
200+ upvotes from the community
First sales coming in (nothing beats that notification sound!)
But software launches are never smooth sailing, are they?
This morning, I woke up to a message from a user reporting 80% CPU usage while the app was just sitting idle. Not exactly the first impression I was hoping for!
I immediately dropped everything, dug into the code, and found the culprit - an animation rendering loop that wasn't properly throttling when inactive. Three hours of debugging later, and the fix was deployed.
What I learned:
Real-world testing reveals insights you can't anticipate in development
Speed of response matters more than perfection
Launch day is just the beginning of the journey
