Hi Product Hunt!
Today, I’m excited to introduce Timmy, an AI budgeting app I’ve been working on for the past year.
Who is Timmy?
Timmy is an AI spending buddy designed to help you save money. Once you link your bank account and set a savings goal, Timmy will generate spending suggestions to help you reach it! Gave up on that diet and spent a week splurging on fast food? Timmy will offer cheaper alternatives for your meals. Noticing unusual activity in your spending? Timmy will alert you so you don’t miss it. These are just a few of Timmy's capabilities.
Why did I create Timmy?
During one of my economics courses in college, we discussed the lack of financial education available in developing nations. This inspired me to think about how to address this issue. Ideally, everyone would have a personal financial advisor guiding their spending. While this isn’t feasible for everyone, modern tools like Plaid and OpenAI can offer the next best thing. I created Timmy to bridge this gap and provide personalized financial help to individuals worldwide. Currently, Timmy is only available in the US and on the iOS App Store, but if there is growing interest, I plan to expand to more areas quickly.
What can Timmy do?
New users will set a savings goal generated by Timmy, tailored to their banking balance and spending history. As users make new transactions, Timmy will offer spending suggestions to help them achieve their goal. Additionally, Timmy can generate monthly budgets and weekly tasks for users to follow.
Where do I see Timmy in the future?
My goal with Timmy is to help people, regardless of their socio-economic status, build long-term wealth. I envision Timmy becoming an essential tool for anyone looking to improve their financial health, making financial education and management accessible to all.
Want to try Timmy out?
If you try the Timmy app, I’d love to hear your feedback! The app is still evolving, and your input can help make it better. I’m excited to hear your impressions, areas where it may fall short, and what it does well. You can provide feedback by leaving a review on the iOS App Store, using the contact form on timmyapp.com, or reaching out to me on Twitter (link in my profile). All feedback is greatly appreciated :)
Thank you for reading about Timmy!

Timmy sounds like exactly the kind of tool so many people need right now — approachable, proactive, and personalized. Love that it doesn’t just show you charts but actually suggests actionable ways to save (like swapping out fast food 😅). Feels like having a money-savvy friend in your pocket.
Also really appreciate the mission behind it — financial literacy and access to guidance shouldn’t be a luxury. Excited to see how Timmy evolves. Rooting for you and the journey ahead! 💸📱👏
