Hello, Product Hunt! And Happy New Year! I am excited to share my first-ever launch here for Smudge.ai. Would love to know what you all think! Smudge is a Chrome Extension that lets you save AI shortcuts into your browser's right-click menu. This lets you run them from any website without ever leaving the page. It's a huge step up from copying/pasting text into ChatGPT again and again. In addition to being able to create your own commands, Smudge.ai comes with built-in commands that allow you to summarize any text (including YouTube video transcripts and PDFs), correct & refine your writing, translate, and much more. Use cases: - Summarize your daily news into a bullet-point list of key takeaways - Get the highlights of a long YouTube video before watching - Translate entire pages - Refine your writing - Kickstart the first draft of an email or document - ...and anything you can prompt ChatGPT for! Product highlights: - Run your commands using GPT-4 - Light mode & dark mode support - Support for rich text formatting in Markdown as well as syntax highlighting for code-related commands - Import (and share!) commands from the gallery https://smudge.ai/gallery

Congrats on the launch! I like that this feels like something that could be built into Chrome. It's very intuitive. (I just used smudge to correct a mistake in this comment haha.)

Hey Sebastian, congratulations on your first-ever launch of Smudge.ai! It sounds like a fantastic Chrome Extension. I'm curious, how does it handle different languages for translation and text correction?
Sebastian
@goyashy Great question! The built-in Translate tool currently expects the input language to be a non-English language and the output to be English. However, internationalization is a top priority for the next version. The plan is to set the default language based on the user's locale or preferences. For that, we'll need good , reliable translations of all of our prompts, as well as surfacing the ability to select a language manually from the settings page. In the meantime, your best option would be to create custom commands to handle each feature you'd like to see in another language.
