Platformative

Awesome... I had also made an app like this for the last Ontario elections... (shut now though). This is a super great project... Happy to discuss details more if you want. I'm in Delhi though and our main area of focus was India.

Bias. Misinformation. Attack ads. Debates that devolve into shouting matches. Politics has become so divided and negative, especially on the internet. I’ve thought a lot about these issues for a long time. Several years ago, I was working in a digital marketing agency when an older gentleman came to us because he was running for city council and he knew he needed a good digital strategy. We helped him make a website, produce videos and manage his social media accounts. One day he emails me and he says 'Hey Matt, I was in the local paper this morning, see if you can use that.' And the local paper had surveyed each candidate on a few key issues, and displayed their answers on a grid, side by side. And I asked myself - why isn’t this everywhere? And that day I came up with the idea for Platformative. My hope is that Platformative can help educate voters, reduce partisanship, and remind people that it isn’t “us versus them”; it’s just “us.”
