Paradym 2.0

Maker
Hi I’m Courtney, one of the makers at Paradym :). This is our first ever Product Hunt launch. 18 months ago we introduced Paradym 1.0 on the app stores. Since then we’ve been focused on testing clinical outcomes of our app because it’s a mental health app, we felt it was really important that it actually worked from a psychological perspective. We didn’t want to be just another mental health app out there. Unfortunately 97% of apps on the app store either don’t measure or don’t have any effect on its users. (https://doi.org/10.1038/s41746-0...) This is really important to me personally because I had a personal 20+ year journey to find the right kind of mental health support and when I finally found what worked, it changed my life. I didn’t want anyone to have to go through the same ridiculously long, and expensive journey so I partnered up with an awesome team of professionals and built something based on evidence that is high quality, but affordable and accessible. The mental health industry has exploded since the pandemic, but ultimately the same problem remains: there aren’t enough human therapists to satisfy demand and we need to build a blended tech and human-enabled solution to drive outcomes for more people. We see this app version as the first step in a pre-therapy, while you’re on a waitlist, or complementary with a face to face therapy experience. When we compared our app results in recent peer reviewed research to research on face to face therapy, we found that after 2 weeks of usage, Paradym users saw 82% higher increase in wellbeing and 73% greater reductions in depression than those doing face to face therapy. Paradym 2.0 takes us a step further and we’ve made improvements based on user feedback from thousands with a greater focus on a personalised programme to uncover negative emotional patterns and break them. Paradym 2.0 is a growth programme personalised to you. ➡️ Track and measure your progress with psychologically validated assessments ➡️ Learn evidence based psychological techniques to challenge yourself ➡️ Get questions that a therapist or coach would ask you, and go through them on your own ➡️ Get evidence-based exercises Use CODE: producthunt2022 for 1 month free and let me know what you think!

@courtney_carlsson In a stressful environment, it is good to have a guide on my mobile phone for emotional well-being. I also appreciate your scientific side. Good luck!

I haven’t tried it yet, so everything I’ll say is just judging by the website, screenshots and launch video (which I loved!) First thing I noticed: the design is beautiful. I really like the approach; makes me feel like I’m in a calm, well decorated place. Second thing is that you’ve actually ran a trial to see if the app gets results. There are so many mental health apps out there with cute graphics, but do they really help? Who knows. This passage from the FAQ stuck out to me in a good way: “Unlike most apps, we limit the amount of content you can read in a certain timeframe. Even though it’s tempting to be as efficient as possible, our evidence shows that binge-reading chapters won’t give you enough time to digest and truly reflect. The power of the Paradym process comes from taking the space to explore the reflections and exercises. Cramming that kind of thought process won’t help you to identify your patterns and break them, or to develop more meaningful relationships with yourself and others. We’re committed to not being a quick-fix or sticking-plaster solution. Instead, we unlock a chapter a day at a time to give you time to really digest and think about the behaviors and questions we cover.” It’s so easy to binge read when you’re feeling motivated, and you think it’s helping but it’s not, unless you keep it up. I’m sure most of us realize this, but it’s hard to enforce by willpower alone, so it’s great that you do it for us. Goes to show you’re truly trying to make a difference. Then I looked at the reviews in the Play Store. There are only a few and most are negative. But after reading them, all the negative ones either say that "it’s not free, so I don’t like it” (🙄) or “it doesn’t load”, which I’m sure you’ll be looking into. Lately I‘ve started to realize that I do have some negative thoughts / fears that hold me back, so I’m all the more interested in trying this out.

@anna_0x thanks for taking the time to share a really thoughtful review. - Thank you for sharing your thoughts on design, we took a lot of time working on branding, design & UX because we believe it's important for a digital health tool to build an emotional connection with the member, similar to the way that we would build a relationship with our therapist or coach - On the science, really appreciate you noticing that. It's one of our USP's, and we believe that science is key. It tells us what works and what doesn't, and it also acts as a quality barometer. - On how we unlock a chapter daily. We did this because in our very first beta, we discovered that members were rushing through chapters. This was either stressing them out or it wasn't allowing them to digest the information properly. If you think of it this way - would you go to 10 back to back therapy sessions in a day? The answer is most likely no, because you need time in between to digest and integrate everything. - On some of our google play reviews. We've been taking those into account in this new release and really focused on performance of the app. On the free side - we offer a free trial! - Thanks for being open and sharing about your negative thoughts. Please let us know how your experience with Paradym goes after you've had a chance to try it.

@courtney_carlsson thank you too for taking the time to reply. 😊 After about an hour of trying out the app I sent some feedback by email. Hoping you'll get the chance to take a look. I have high hopes for this and I think it'll be able to deliver after a few iterations. In my opinion there are some things that need to be worked on before it's ready for prime time.

Just get the app last week and found the idea absolutely great! Although, tried to paste the referral code on the iOS app and the Botton submit just doesn't appears to work. No action back. Any solutions ?
