I first came across and tried Kickback when they were focusing Minecraft PvP betting (& were kickback.gg, now kickback.com). Fast forward a year or so, and I noticed some CS:GO friends had added kickback.com to their profile names. Sounds like they must have found some success focusing on that!
While most of the services in the CS:GO space are focused on betting on professional matches, with Kickback you get matched with another player, bet on yourself, and win if you win. Imagine this would be a more defensible position w.r.t. skill-based betting and potentially be immune to any sort of fantasy-sports-focused legislation. Working to stop cheaters sounds like the secret sauce for this sort of platform. I wonder what sorts of things the team has learned working on the cat-and-mouse game of detecting cheaters.
