Hey, I'm Idrees! I made Mutable after realizing that my overall anxiety was notably worse every time I picked up my phone. Despite setting strict screen time limits, even just a few moments on social media was enough to feel overwhelmed. Mutable was made to help me temper the algorithm and slow down the negative content that is presented along with the content from my friends and family that I actually want to see. This is a passion project of mine and as such is free to use, so I hope it can help you too!

@idreesinc Very cool extension! Congrats! How does it decide which posts/elements to block/remove?

@hsllsh Importantly, the user decides which terms/phrases they want to block. Whether it’s triggering content, spoilers, or something else, I wanted to make sure the app only blocks what the user selects and nothing else. Otherwise it’d feel a little dystopian 😅

I would love it if you could do sentiment analysis of headlines and just hide everything that's above, say, a certain negativity threshold. I love the concept but find it difficult to predict keywords that I want to hide.

WebWave

Already now most people just cannot find any content, that others read, because of the social media bubbles, and this will just deepen it. Aren't you afraid, that this will only deepen the divisions in the society?

@mac_czaj I think this is great. I mute plenty of words and phrases on Twitter just to be on the positive side of the spectrum. Being able to do that across the web would be awesome for sure. Gonna test this.
