Lomi Home Composter

Congrats on your launch ! It's a great concept. Can I ask you how much electricity does Lomi consumes per cycle? 4 hours is a long cycle so I was wondering if you managed to lower the need for electricity.

I'm excited to introduce Lomi, the world's first home composter that can break down bioplastics. You may know Pela as the maker of the world's first compostable phone case. We began developing Lomi as a solution to our own problem - customers want to compost their Pela case after they buy a new phone, but their local composts don't accept bioplastics. In the 3 years that we've been developing Lomi, we've come to realize that Lomi is so much more than just a solution for Pela case users. The world has a huge problem with food waste. Food waste makes up about 50% of the volume of waste that North Americans send to landfills each year. Landfills are a terrible place for food waste to break down. In a landfill environment, food scraps begin to release methane - a greenhouse gas exponentially more harmful than carbon dioxide. Lomi is able to turn food scraps, compostable packaging, and bioplastics into nutrient-rich compost in as little as 4 hours. I feel like Lomi, and home composters, should be normalized like most people have toasters. Can see Lomi working with home designers and real estate companies to offer packages where Lomi comes with the home/office. Cool product! @aaronoleary, more food for your plants.
