Hey Product Hunt! Thanks for checking out Local 🎉. I’m super proud of the work that our team has done to invest in the future of this product, and over the last six months, we’ve assessed our role in the WordPress community and where Local fits in. Thanks to the smaller file size and requirements of our newest release, Local is now easier to install and runs wonderfully on low-end PCs, increasing access to great development tools (like Connect to Flywheel and WP Engine). This means more developers will be able to start building WordPress locally than ever before, and we’re so excited to continue empowering the community to create great work. I can’t wait to hear what you think, and feel free to drop any questions you may have below! ⬇️

I’ve been using Local for a long time and it’s changed how I work with WordPress. The new release is extremely fast and handles big sites like a champ. Now that WPE owns Flywheel, this product should continue to grow for years to come.

It's really #1 in wordpress development but The only reason I stopped using it was the lack of ioncube loader support.

Fantastic! Indispensable! I don't want to go into the details now common to various platforms, but I do want to dwell on: 1. Importing websites Import in a flash and convert db and domain, just follow the guidelines given and in no time you have the ability to import a website locally into wordpress. 2. Work directly with the real domain Redirect the real domain to the local installation in one click and generate the SSL certificate. N.B.: Remember to change the record in /etc/host (if you use Windows) to access the online server again
