Howdy folks! Brett here, co-founder of ☁️ Kumospace. Pumped to share a bit about what led us to build Kumospace, what problems we are trying to solve, and where this thing is going. 👣 How we got here - At Charge.vc, I used to run a monthly IRL meetup for angel investors. When the pandemic hit, I quickly realized that existing video chat solutions simply don’t work for participant-focused events like conferences, meetups, and happy hours. One person speaks while everyone else waits to speak, or simply tunes out. We knew there had to be a better way. That’s why my co-founder Yang and I built Kumospace. ⛓️ Break free from breakout rooms - In real life, the best networking doesn’t happen in the “dedicated networking rooms” but rather fluidly and serendipitously in the hallways, bars, and chance encounters between talks at an event. Kumospaces, like the physical spaces they mimic, enable participants to explore and converse with agency. Guests who are closer are louder (a.k.a. spatial audio), allowing groups to organically form and dissolve in different regions of the same space at the same time. 🎨 Customize your space - The same two people will have very different interactions depending on whether they meet in a coffee shop, boardroom, or bar. Rather than the undifferentiated experiences of existing video chat apps, Kumospaces are rich, customizable, and expressive. Choose your favorite layout or (coming soon) build your own. 🍸Turn conversations into experiences - Humans build trust and relationships by doing things together. We enable our hosts to enrich their spaces and entertain their guests with virtual bars, jukeboxes, big screen TVs and more. Since launching our beta in August, we have seen teams from Google to Harvard to Facebook to Columbia host escape rooms, birthday parties, and design studios in Kumospace. 📅 Today we’re opening up out of beta here on Product Hunt to share Kumospace with the PH community.
