Hey hunters! ๐Ÿ˜บ I needed an anonymous avatar system for an app I'm making. I always loved the delightful little avatars in Yik Yak, and was shocked that there wasn't a service to generate something similar. So I built a teeny tiny little service to generate these icons on the fly. The API is super simple, just call https://icotar.com/avatar/:hash where :hash can be anything you like. Here's my name as an Icotar https://icotar.com/avatar/craig. Best of all, it's open source. The service is free to use in your apps and websites. Enjoy! ๐ŸŽ

For example: /-a:hash : could be the Yik Yak collection /-b:hash : could be emojis /-c:hash : could be the more used GIFs on telegram ...

Pros:

Sim-pli-ci-ty!! You just need to paste the link and add any :hash you want..

Cons:

I will be so fan to have some kind of categories in these avatars

Yes! Right now the only endpoint is /avatar but planning on adding a few more in the future. Thanks for checking it out! ๐Ÿ™

Maaaan, this solution is in-cre-di-ble!! I've read about this easy to use solution without any conviction, wondering what type of "anything I like" :hash was allowed... So I've just tried to put anything: and it worked!!! Thank you for this solution, really really great!
