Happy Lunar New Year, Product Hunt! 🍊🌖✨ As a programmer, I found it annoying to constantly switch between the keyboard and mouse when I'm in the zone. While keyboard shortcuts are useful, not every action has a corresponding shortcut. That's why I created Homerow, a macOS productivity app that lets you keep your hands on the keyboard when you need to click on buttons or links. Homerow allows you search and click on buttons on your screen. It's similar to Spotlight, but for the macOS user interface. Features include: ✅ Search and click on buttons on the frontmost window, menu bar and dock. ✅ All types of clicks: Left click, right click, double click, and command click (aka Open Link in New Tab). ✅ The Tutor 🤓 - Learn about the searchable properties of a UI element by pressing ‘?’. ✅ Disable Search for ergonomics: When search is disabled, labels for all UI elements are always shown, and label-text can be typed without holding Shift. Made for those who ❤️ Vimium and Vimperator. Homerow works with most native apps, and a growing set of web apps. This includes popular browsers like Chrome, Firefox, Brave, and Arc. Lately, I completely stopped using the mouse. I work full time in front of my computer (music, programming, etc), and I don't have a mouse at all. = Eliminating wrist-pain is crucial for me as a pianist. Thanks to: ✅ HOMEROW ✅ SUPERKEY ✅ KEYBOARD MAESTRO ✅ VIMIUM ✅ WARPD WIth all these apps, you can give your mouse to the cat and never leave your homerow again.

Love to hear any feedback on how Homerow's ergonomics can be further improved. I started working on Vimac (predecessor of Homerow) because I had a semester of REALLY bad wrist pain from using the trackpad 🤕. I'm glad it has helped you with a similar problem. Also, I've never heard of warpd - will check it out 👀. Seems helpful for any edge cases Homerow doesn't catch.

Musicians that are also geeks uses your app and similar apps :) Warpd is a fantastic app that I use all the time to act as a mouse. Some free ideas for you: Bring back the scroll mode from Vimac. I use it a lot! Make a similar Mouse-tool as Warpd and integrate it in HomeRow. Make options to set your preferred keys for Colemak users and other freaks :) Thanks. No complaints, just see potential improvements.

I've always been too shy to launch here because I never felt like it was ready. Decided to launch today because the timing will never be 'just right'. Just launch it. 🚀

Homerow is like the classic Mac app, Shortwave. It's great for when your hands are already on the keyboard and you want to trigger buttons without moving your hand back to the trackpad. For example, when I finish typing this, I will trigger Homerow to click the orange "Post" button to submit this review.
