Now you can add new fields using the world’s most popular data language – ExcelLang. over 60 of the most common spreadsheet functions. When you execute a calc, Hex’s compute engine compiles it to dialect-specific SQL, and pushes it down to the full scale of the underlying data. ENDORSED STATUSES Endorsed Statuses improve our existing Statuses feature and visually indicate trusted, governed assets. They can only be added by Admins and Workspace managers, and they are fully customizable, so you can add whatever name, color, and icon best suits your workflow. FASTER MAGIC AI TOOLS Our Magic AI tools make it easy to go from a prompt to analytics. With our new updates and the latest GPT4o model, chart generation is 10x faster and everything else will feel 2x snappier. Plus, we’ve added diff-based editing for Python. We believe the future of analytics is multi-modal, allowing you to work between code, no-code, and text prompts to build with data. I used Hex in a really early version at a previous startup, and it felt promising but early...It's been exciting to see Barry and team deliver on that promise - going from a data scientist focused cloud python notebook to a truly horizontal data tool. I started my career in tech as a data scientist (lots of really slow Hive queries at Yahoo) and I remember using Mode in ~2015, and how useful it was for ad-hoc queries and custom reports. I loved Mode in the early days, but at some point it felt like the evolution stalled, like a promise unfulfilled. Fast forward to a few months ago when we started using Hex at Product Hunt - It sounds like hyperbole but Hex feels like the analytics tool I've dreamed about. It allows for ad-hoc queries while staying relatively close to the data (good for collaboration, traceability), and allows everyone to work with data in their language of choice: sql, python, and now spreadsheets! The charts are beautiful and somehow I never have to think too hard to get the chart I'm looking for. Tufte would be proud. Plus the AI magic really does help someone like me with very rusty SQL get the right answer without banging my head against a wall. Also as a tool builder, it's been really interesting to see how the team has navigated complexity and multiple user paths to similar goals. There's been a ton of craft that goes into this and it shows. Congrats on the launch, Hex team!

I'm a software engineer. I'm used to using an IDE + git to manage complex code. And, I'm leaning more and more heavily on AI to write my actual code.

Hex has its own revision control and audit trails (via git export), but git syncing is one-way; I can't make edits and sync back to Hex. And, it has its own AI magic, but it is pretty limited (and I don't have control over it).

We're releasing many of our most-requested features this month, and I'd love your input on what you want to see next and what we can be doing better!

As my dashboards grow more complicated they always seem to descend into disorganized chaos with a bunch of different datasets and charts all over the place.
What are some good way to fight the chaos and keep things organized when dashboards start getting complicated?
