Hi Product Hunt! After 6 years of listening to users and using Freezetab daily, I'm excited to launch version 2 of Freezetab here on Product Hunt. Here are some of the stand out new features: ★ Save links from tabs and Chrome's tab groups Chrome added a feature called tab groups in 2020, which allow you to collapse multiple tabs into named color coded groups. While tab groups do help cut down on tab clutter to an extent, I've found that instead of cluttering my browser with individual tabs, I now clutter them with tab groups. Freezetab can save, close, and reopen tabs and tab groups so you can reduce the aforementioned clutter (and reduce memory usage as well)! ★ Save and edit articles Most browsers include some sort of reading mode that distills the text of an article into a simplified reading interface, but Freezetab takes this a step further by making your saved articles fully editable. You can add your own notes, highlight sections of an article, and make text bold, italic, strikethrough, etc. The editor also features syntax highlighting for articles that include code (with support for most popular programming languages)! ★ Save and subscribe to RSS/Atom feeds I think a browser extension is actually the ideal place to handle RSS Feeds for a few reasons. First, the best place to find feeds is on the websites you visit, and a browser extension like Freezetab can parse the site you're on and look for RSS feeds. Second, if you're like me you spend most of your time in your browser, so it's convenient to have Freezetab's icon update whenever a feed has new content. Third, modern RSS feeds often only publish links (rather than the full content of an article), and saving links to open later in your browser is exactly what Freezetab was designed to do. ★ Save quotes from websites Freezetab can save quotes from websites. Chrome, Safari, and many other browsers have added support for a feature called text fragments which are links that highlight specific passages of text on a page when opened. Freezetab takes advantage of this feature by allowing you to save quotes from websites along with an associated text fragment link. ★ Cloud sync Cloud synchronization/backup is without a doubt the most highly requested feature, and is now available via a subscription. The extension itself is still 100% free but if you upgrade you'll be able to sync your data between multiple devices and/or browsers, and view your saved data on any device with a web browser. If you have a collection of saved links you'd like to keep private, you can can mark them as private in the extension and they won't by synced to the cloud. Paid users can also save via an iOS/iPadOS shortcut or bookmarklet, and sort through their saved data with a polished new web ui. ★ Private sharing Want to share a collection of links with a friend? Freezetab can generate a private link you can send to others. All of the shared data is stored in the hash portion of the URL (the part after the # character), which browsers don't send to servers by default, so only you and the person you're sharing with can see the shared data. From the server's perspective it'll just look like you viewed 'https://freezetab.com/shared'. Thanks for checking out Freezetab!✌🏽

@connor8 Thanks! I'll definitely check out your discord server. I'm glad you like the url hash solution. I always thought url hashes were an underutilized browser feature.
