Hi Product Hunt! We love Netflix. Okay, probably all of you already know, that Netflix uses a code system to catalog its 2.2 million minutes (2020). In total, they use over 76,000 'secret' codes to somehow catalog all of their content. If you want to browse through super many Netflix codes you can do it here: 'Eehhm... okay...' 😯. Unfortunately there is no cool filtering system on the platform (yet) to discover productions that could really mess up your algorithm 👀. That's how the idea for Flixcat was born. A little web app that allows everyone to 'stray' through all sorts of 'secret' or 'hidden' Netflix categories. Like a cat at night... 🐈‍⬛ In fact, it wasn't really hard to find out the most relevant 334 categories (or subgenres). The codes have already been shared here and there, as said the idea is not new. But fiddly websites or apps with strange codes or even input fields are not sexy to use at night when you just feel like watching a (new or old...) movie. So long story short. Here comes Flixcat and maybe this cat will find its way to your home screen and you will discover (like us!) a completely new, previously unknown Netflix. 📲 📺 🙏 ✌️ D+F
