OpenAI introduced Operator (opens in a new window), a web-based agent that can complete tasks for you. It can see a webpage and use its own browser to type, click, and scroll across it. As a research preview, it has restrictions and will change in response to user feedback. Operator is one of our first agents, which are AIs that can conduct work for you on their own—you assign it a task, and it completes it.
@saaswarrior This is an exciting update. It could replace SaaS for web scraping, social media management, and process automation tools. What do you think? :)
@rohanrecommends Yeh, I have tried some tools related to desktop automation like Robomotion and Taskmagic and now OpenAI launched this. I think it will create more competition. But I can't tell about social media management because social media platforms ban third-party automation solutions from starting.
@rohanrecommends Yes, but it is also true that they have blocked so many tools and even profiles as well because they are using automation via third-party apps. So risk is there.
@hermanschutte It is currently a research preview, meaning it has limitations and will evolve based on user feedback. Available to Pro users in the U.S. :)
