Hey everyone, I'm excited to share Backup Diary with you! It's a simple and secure way to write important notes for your loved ones in case something unexpected happens.
Most of us don't (want to) think about something terrible happening to us. But life is full of unexpected events, and it can have a significant impact on our loved ones and us. It's important to be prepared for the worst while hoping for the best, like having an insurance policy.
With Backup Diary, you can rest easy knowing that your critical information will be safely stored and delivered to your designated recipients.
Backup Diary works as a "dead man's switch". We'll keep your note private as long as you check in with us.
Here's how it works:
- Signup and create a note. Write any information you'd like.
- Add recipients. Either add their email addresses or phone numbers.
- Select your check-in period (30, 60, or 90 days), during which you'll check in with us at least once.
- Check in (simply log in) with us. If we don't see you for the check-in period, we'll send your note to all the recipients. Everything related to the note gets deleted a month after its release.
Here's what you can store in your note:
- Information about your insurance policies
- Passwords to your bank accounts
- ATM cards' PIN codes
- Property documents' information
- Contacts of your friends and lawyers
- Last wishes and instructions
- and anything else you want
With Backup Diary:
🍀 You get peace of mind knowing your information will not be lost.
🔔 We'll send you periodic reminders to log in or update your note.
🔒 Your information is stored in an encrypted database.
♥️ It only costs $19 per year for each note.
📱 iOS and Android apps are coming soon.
Please try it out, and let me know what you think!
Wow, that's such a distinctive idea. Congrats on your launch 👏🎉
I had always in mind sharing my most valuable and confidential details with one of my relatives before when I was not around anymore. It's indeed very helpful!
Also, its design is great and well-fitted with your product. Loved the "Don't leave it to tomorrow" text in the footer, very creative!
Have you designed the UI of the website yourself?
@hosseinyazdi Thank you.
I think many people (including myself) think about sharing that information with someone like a friend or a family member. But sharing it directly has some challenges of its own:
- The information (passwords, accounts, etc.) can keep changing, and we'll have to keep them informed
- The information can be 'leaked' from them
- They can misplace/forget about it
Backup Diary aims to fix all those:
- You can keep your note updated
- Information is private and encrypted as long as you keep checking it
- It's automatically sent to all the recipients
Yes, I designed and developed the UI myself. I'm glad you like it. I hope you'll try it, and I'd love to hear more about your experience.
I believe it would be very beneficial for older like our grandparents, sick people, and wealthy person because they really need this kind of diary to keep their important information in this, and in case they are no more in this world their family or friends will get to know about passwords and all.
