Hi Product Hunt 👋, I'm Jonathan, a current student and the maker of AxNote. This app started as a side project to create a note-taking app that adapts to my messy style after failing to find a suitable alternative. Since then, it's grown to become a fully customizable and minimalistic note-taking app that adapts to anyone's needs. Whether you're a student that needs to automatically crop whiteboard photos in your notes or just need an infinitely expandable canvas to sketch on, AxNote has you covered with millimeter-precise lined, grid and dot paper. Or just a simple white page. Built native for iPadOS, AxNote is designed to make the Apple Pencil feel like more than a simple sketching tool. A QuickTool picker lets you instantly switch tools with a long press (even on the first-gen Apple Pencil), and hand-drawn shapes can be easily snapped to perfect ones with the Magic Wand tool. Plus, everything works over SharePlay for effortless collaboration. Smart Sections are an efficient way to segment different parts of a note in the sidebar for quick navigation. Even if you forget to create Smart Sections, the Magic Wand tool recognizes headings (marked with a star ⭐️), converts your handwriting to text, and automatically creates Sections while keeping your heading's color. Where most other note-taking apps store notes within the app itself, AxNote notes work as individual files that can be stored anywhere on device, or in the cloud. This file-centric way of working is great for storing notes alongside other documents like PowerPoint lectures. Images and tables can be dragged, dropped, and marked up anywhere, and you can even use Scribble with your Apple Pencil to convert your handwriting to text. Using the Object Editor, everything right down to the outline colours can be customized.
