I'm so proud to share Start VR's next major original virtual reality project on Product Hunt; a genre-defining travel entertainment experience unlike anything you have seen before — Atlas Obscura VR. Based on the #1 NYT Best Selling Book and popular travel website, Atlas Obscura VR features incredible imagery, fascinating stories and hidden interactive gems that will transport you to the most amazing locations in the world. Season One offers three incredible episodes; each with over 15 minutes of self-paced interactivity with hundreds of stories  to explore and unlock. It  harnesses the latest 360° VR capture tools and uses genre-defining interactive storytelling techniques. A key feature to the VR experience is the mysterious underground “Atlasphere”; a powerful machine inspired by iconic postmodern and brutalist architecture, capable of teleporting visitors to destinations around the world. The interface hosts the episodes, articles and other immersive content. Start VR’s creative team traveled around the world to capturing high-quality photogrammetry imagery and 360° stereoscopic location footage. Start VR also leveraged their technological expertise to fuse 360° spatial audio mixing, with live-action VR content and the artistic CG imagery to create a high-fidelity experience.
