What's up everyone! I'm Jay, a Software Engineer with over 10 years experience, and a futures trader. I've long wanted to combine my programming expertise with my knowledge of the financial markets, and that's how Zion Trading Algos was created. Our goal is to empower this new generation of retail traders. The folks who discovered trading 2, 3 years ago and are just as fascinated by it as we are. We want to make tools available that were only available to Wall Street hedge fund managers just a decade ago. We are living in one of the greatest technological eras of our time, and we want to take advantage of that while helping other people as well. I'm sure you've all heard the same old repeated, contentious and often negative comments about trading. Words like "scam" are not uncommon in the industry. To be honest, the amount of skepticism is probably justified! However, I truly believe that learning to trade was one of the greatest decisions of my life, and then learning to automate that trading being a close second. Automated, systematic, or algorithmic trading is nothing scary or complex. Please do not let these these cryptic words fool you. Algorithmic trading is nothing more than a series of if/then conditions that allow a trading program to execute on your behalf, based on statistical observations on historical data (known as backtesting). @otman_alami Thanks for the comment Otman! I agree that backtesting results alone is not a sign that a system is robust. However, it is a critical part of the strategy development process. We also incubate all our systems on live, out of sample data to ensure positive results during forward testing as well. Hope that helps!
