As a designer I spend a lot of my time in Figma. Grabbing copy from around the web and pasting it into the app (be it lorem ipsum or actual copy) is super time consuming. After toying around with the ChatGPT demo I realized a generative copy plugin within Figma would speed up my workflow A LOT.
@nhuesmann and I spun up a prototype in early December to gauge interest and after the huge response we sprinted to get Scribe AI live on the Figma plugin store. Happy to share the live plugin with you all today!

I’m Nathan, co-creator and developer of Writer. Though I’m not a designer, I spend a good amount of time in Figma when building products. Writer is my new favorite Figma plugin. I mainly use it to help me create copy for new pages we’re adding to our site. If it doesn’t initially nail the copy on the first try, it gets me 90% there and I can make small tweaks so that it sounds perfect! I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who designs!
Using writer has increased my productivity and helped me focus on design and collaboration with my team. The site was also super easy to get a subscription for writer. Writer is also really really fast compared to other ai tools .
