Hey Hunters!
This is our first time as makers and we are very excited to share what we've ben working on with everyone.
Thanks @razkarmi for hunting us, it really means a lot to our team.
Our idea!
My team and I have created a free social network platform. That It will be hosting all kind of interests, passions and hobbies with absolutely no filters. It is a place where we want to promote freedom of speech and diversity, including all sort of topics - varying from the most to the least mainstream ones - all being treated equally, as each opinion and view matters. We endeavor to tackle major issues that social media are faced with nowadays, through state-of-the-art and innovative tools, since modern problems require modern solutions!
The problem?
In today's ever-evolving digitized environment, most communities suffer from 2 major problems:
They are not easily discoverable.
Moderation is extremely harsh, leaving the average user powerless.
The solution?
Westeria connects communities and it gives their members the power they deserve by offering:
Easy and simple navigation among related topics with a soon-to-be launched revolutionary tagging system, for the users to discover intriguing communities they never knew existed.
Split ownership among its users, so THEY can decide what is good for the community and what is not. Thus, making public authorities, like moderators redundant.
Still not convinced? Well Westeria also offers the following features (with a lot more to follow):
⚡️Users can navigate between similar topics, based on their search and activity.
⚡️Cross-posting to multiple communities while keeping the same comment section.
⚡️The user's feed is greatly enhanced, as it is easier to discover communities similar to his/her interests and needs.
⚡️Each user can vote for an action (for example a post) to be rejected or agreed. An action can be a take-down of a post. The strength of each user's vote is calculated based on his activity on the community.
⚡️Heavy focus on communication between the members of a community.
⚡️Heavy focus on the chatting system.
We hope you like site,
Feel free to leave us any feedback or suggestions you may have 😃
Happy Hunting 😍
@razkarmi@periclis Hi,
Checked out the .com and some quick insights:
1. Nice job building it this far!
2. Are communities really that hard to find on other platforms and are moderators really that bad? Sounds like talking to Reddit?
3. Theres anime, tech, funny, entrepreneur categories. Do you have a niche you want to go after?
@billfromberlocks Hey Bill,
Thank you so much for the amazing feedback and the questions you provide us we really appreciated.
So to answer your questions , 2) yes it is really hard to find some communities and especially sub-communities in big social medias , also moderation in nowadays is pretty strict and it leaves the average user powerless.
3)Not really since we are not the ones that create the communities but the users.
Hope I answered all your questions.
If you have any other suggestions/issues or recommendations please feel free to lets us know.
Best,
periclis
@periclis For #2, didn't know it's a big problem to find certain communities. I guess this is a viral play where you'll try to get lots of users then monetize with ads? Or do you ever plan to charge?
