Hey everyone, I'm Amit, founder of WeLinQ. I'm thrilled to share our platform with you today, and to tell you a bit about what inspired me to build WeLinQ.
As someone who has personally struggled with mental health challenges, I know firsthand how important it is to have access to therapy and support. But when I was going through the phase - I had a lot of reservations about therapy - I was trying to avoid going through therapy. Eventually, when I got over those and started looking for therapists, I found that existing platforms were asking for long-term commitments, with little transparency or information about the therapists themselves, even before you go through the first session.
Today, I'm proud to say that WeLinQ is a reality, and we've already helped many people access to therapy in a way that works for them. WeLinQ is a platform that prioritizes flexibility, transparency, and accessibility. We offer pay-as-you-go therapy, free consultations, and therapist content to help you better understand the process.
I believe that everyone deserves access to quality mental health support, regardless of their background or circumstances. I hope that WeLinQ can help empower more people on their mental health journeys, and I look forward to hearing your feedback and questions.

Are you currently offering only online consultations or also face to face?
As a person with not too much domain knowledge, is personal contact (face to face) of importance, when it comes to therapy?

As of now, WeLinQ only offers online consultations.
In terms of effectiveness, research has shown both are equally effective. Like everything else, both means have their own pros and cons. In an online setup - therapists need to ask a lot more questions ( as there are no nonverbal cues), but really goes a long way in terms of access - online setup is convenient, accessible and less mental barrier with the attached stigma.

@yardstick17 this is an interesting launch, I wholeheartedly support the attempt to improve mental health and make available tools that promote mental well-being.
But if I’m being honest, I’m skeptical we’ve yet to see remote therapy executed in a way that it prioritizes patients above all else. The Cerebral fiasco is at the top of mind. I would love to learn more about the safeguards in place to ensure treatment is both ethical and tailored to the individual.
Is there a medical staff/board overseeing/auditing therapists to ensure the highest quality?
There are a lot of questions, and would welcome further discussion. I want to see this done right, and I hope that you’re the one to do it.

While exploring the platform, I noticed differences in the quality of therapist profile pictures. It may be beneficial to provide guidelines to ensure that users do not develop biases towards therapists with high-quality profile pictures, which could inaccurately influence their perception of the quality of therapy provided. Just a suggestion to improve the user experience. Keep up the great work!
It is very important to approach the treatment of mental disorders as a need rather than a privilege. I was very happy to see that WeLinQ allows me to find therapists from all over the world. The app is pretty easy to use, the team has done a great job. Congratulations! 🚀
Apart from the easy session booking process, one thing that really stood out to me was that the app offered a wide range of topics, including anxiety, depression, stress management, relationships, and self-esteem. Each topic had multiple exercises as well.
Another great feature of the app was the ability to track my progress over time!

I think with the renewed focus on mental health post-pandemic, this can be a really useful product that makes therapy accessible for a lot of people who might not otherwise choose it due to the stigma and pressure around this topic.
Using technology to cut down admin costs makes it affordable for people in lower-income groups to get therapy, I guess the next challenge or milestone would be integrating with social benefits and/or insurance providers. Delighted to see this take off, good luck for the future.
