What do you think? …

Joel Loyol
šŸ‘‹ Hi everyone, Wacht.tv comes from my love of Reddit and my experience growing up watching music videos on TV. Finding good music videos these days is kinda like playing whack a mole, you randomly start clicking around and if your lucky you find something good. I wanted to reduce the randomness by creating a dedicated space for one of my favorite types of video content. I felt the best way to format the site was in Reddit style product that was optimized for video and incorporated the best bits of television. šŸ“ŗ Turn of your brain and enjoy a television like experience with the site's stream view šŸ”Ž Filter by genre, release date and format (performance, music video, visualizer) šŸ¤ Compact list view reminiscent of old Reddit šŸ› ļø Built entirely with no code, shout out to bubble.io

Q: Why stop at Video?
Joel Loyol
@ronsheridan I think by focusing just video I can add richer features that work for the format and amplify its inherent qualities. For example the stream view that plays like television wouldn't be possible if I added pictures.

@ronsheridan @joel_loyol1 Your instincts are clearly spot on. I guess I was mostly reacting and not thinking, but to the extent I was thinking it was more next stage. I recently read somewhere that tools that allow people to build value on top of Reddit would be an emerging category within Startup, and Wacth.tv clearly is a concept proof.

@ronsheridan @joel_loyol1 yeah I think focusing on Video is the only way the site can ever be competitive with a juggernaut like Reddit.

Great idea! I've been finding new music on Wacht.tv for a few weeks now. One of the features that's kept me hooked is the simple, crowdsourced sorting behind the top videos. It does remind me of earlier days on the internet.

@tedspare Thanks Ted that is amazing to hear.

When I was little, my parents and I watched TV a lot of the time. They turned on the news in the evenings, I watched cartoons after kindergarten, and then after school. But when everyone had their own computer, we stopped using the TV. And it's not surprising: why should I wait to watch a movie if I can easily find it online? But when I went to high school, TV began to gain demand again. It became convenient to use streaming sites, play the console, and we bought a TV again. The last time we bought a TV in the living room, as we couldn't decide on the parameters for a long time https://colorviewfinder.co/
