Hey Product Hunt community! 🎉 I am excited to announce the launch of Verve, a lightweight and blazingly fast launcher for accessing and opening applications, files, and documents on MacOS 💻. Verve serves as a replacement for popular tools like Spotlight, Raycast, and Alfred, and is written in the Rust programming language using the Tauri Framework 🦀. You can download Verve now at https://github.com/ParthJadhav/v..., and follow the development of the project on GitHub (https://github.com/ParthJadhav). The default shortcut to launch Verve is CMD + Shift + G, and you can access the Preferences window by pressing CMD + , or by clicking the menu bar icon and selecting Preferences 🔧. Verve can also be set to launch at login ✅. I am happy to share that this is my fourth open-source project, and I am excited to continue contributing to the development of Verve 💪. I just turned 18, and I am passionate about using technology to solve problems and improve people's lives. If you have any feedback or suggestions for the project, I would love to hear from you 💬. Thank you for your support, and I hope you enjoy using Verve! 😊

A long-time user of Alfred here. I tried Raycast, but it seems a little worse than Alfred since it takes an extra action to show the results (and an extra screen). This could be a better option for a few reasons if done right! 1. Build-in clipboard history (with a changeable shortcut) 2. Quick preview of media (it would be a deal breaker if it could show webpages preview) 3. Quick results (like calc results, extension results, etc.) 4. Of course support for extensions (the current problem that Alfred has is outdated extensions and no central place for extensions). P.S. love that it is built using Rust, although I don't like Rust (Go dev here 😅). It is best for performance.

@kura955 Thanks for the valuable suggestions. I’ll add them to the todo list and work on them one by one. I never actually used Go, So I’m not sure how it feels. But Rust is very fun to use compared to other languages.

@parth_jadhav there are little things I like in Go over Rust, but yeah, Rust is cool!
