Hey all! 👋 I'm an iOS engineer who's been following the advent of AI for the last several months — I'm sure just like many of you! I feel like there's still so much low-hanging fruit where AI can help make our lives easier with *simple* apps and tools. So I built TLDR AI, an iOS app to easily summarize any article on the web, in just 2 clicks. Previously, I had been copying and pasting links and text to AI summarizer websites to get the gist of them, but that felt cumbersome and unnatural. So I built this app and am using the share menu that's native to iOS to fast-track that process! As a bonus, TLDR AI can also break through news site paywalls! It's able to scrape all of the content behind those pesky popups asking for subscription and membership fees — it's my most commonly used and beloved feature :). I have dozens of early users who have loved using the app so far, and its reception has been great! It's still early days for this app and I have a laundry list of feature requests and a personal wishlist of improvements as its users and I continue to use the app every day!
