An online platform connecting displaced Turkish & Syrian earthquake survivors with volunteer host families. Relaunch of UkraineTakeShelter, which housed 100,000 Ukrainian refugees to homes around the world.
Our whole team hasn't slept in 48 hours.
Right now, thousands are freezing in the cold without shelter, after an earthquake decimated Turkey & Syria.
As soon as we heard the news, we jumped into action. In less than 48 hours, we launched TakeShelter: a platform connecting people who need housing to those with extra space in their homes.
With thousands eager to lend a hand to earthquake victims, we connect those in need with those who want to help. No more missed opportunities for aid.
This isn't our first time building a platform like this. Last year, we built UkraineTakeShelter - the largest online refugee housing program in the world, helping over 100,000 refugees find a place to sleep.
By building robust security, privacy, and verification systems, as well as leveraging our relationships with a wide variety of humanitarian organizations around the world, we're setup to make a real impact on the ground.
But we need your help. Here's what you can do:
1. Help spread the word on social media, send to contacts in Turkey and Syria, and share with friends.
2. Donate to InternetActivism (a 501c3 non-profit) or other Turkish & Syrian non-profits. Links on our website.
3. Volunteer your coding, design, management, security, or media skills by joining our community. Link on our website.
