Hi Product Hunt community! 👋 I am excited to share a product I just launched called Sunhunter! Sunhunter is a tool to help photographers determine how vibrant and colorful the skies will be at sunset and sunrise. As a landscape photographer, nearly all of my shots are taken during golden hour, and I would often find it frustrating to plan a shoot only to find out that the skies were not so picturesque. I always hope for vivid, beautiful skies, but often nature has other plans and gives overly cloudy conditions or skies lacking in color. I built Sunhunter so that photographers can know in advance if vibrant, interesting skies are expected. Sunhunter analyzes weather data in the searched location, looking at factors such as atmospheric moisture, air quality, and cloud cover at varying altitudes. It returns a score between 0 to 10 to let users know how vibrant and interesting the skies are expected to be during sunset and sunrise times. It sends users daily SMS and email messages giving them the sunset and sunrise scores for their "home" location. This "home" location can be changed as often as needed. There is also a search tool where users can get the sunset and sunrise score for any location in the US. Currently, Sunhunter only works for locations within the US, but I hope to expand it in the future. My hope is that photographers of all kinds (landscape, street, portrait, wedding, real estate) or anyone who loves watching a good sunset/sunrise will find it useful.
