Thanks! Jon from Splitwise here. We're super excited about the redesign and new look. Cover photos are definitely one of our favorite new features. If you have any specific feedback or issues with 5.0 just let us know here, on Twitter, or via email to support at splitwise dot com.

After long last, a major upgrade to Splitwise's iOS app! New in version 5.0: We completely redesigned the app. Highlights include: - A beautiful, modern interface - Cover photos for groups - Lightweight budgeting tools (spending by category, group spending totals, export to CSV) - Significant performance improvements Additionally, we're thrilled to announce our premium service Splitwise Pro. Upgrade to unlock: - Receipt scanning with itemization (OCR) - Currency conversion - Expense search - Charts - Default splits for groups (eg. always 60% 40%) - An ad-free experience

Pro is overpriced IMO. I would subscribe if it was $5~ per year. I barely use Splitwise, mostly for holiday trips, which is only few times a year. Having to pay every month for features I use only sporadically across the year is bad. And the yearly price required is way to much. Think again. I’m sure many people are like me and will stick to the free version because of the price. You better have 10 ppl paying $5/year than 1 paying $35/year.

Review Splitwise?

Splitwise is praised for simplifying expense tracking among friends and roommates, making it a go-to app for managing shared costs. Users appreciate its ability to organize expenses without awkward conversations. However, recent changes, such as daily transaction limits and ads, have led to dissatisfaction, pushing some users to consider alternatives. The makers of Push emphasize a user-friendly experience, while the creator of PayMeBack.lol was motivated by Splitwise's paywalls to develop their own solution.

I've been using Splitwise Pro (paid version) for years. I usually organize the groups and transactions but now that the Free version now has a 2-3 transaction per day limit anyone that doesn't have Pro is barely able to use the application. In addition they added 10 second ads between those 2-3 transactions.

It's reallly good for splitting, has some smart feature where you can just enter some text and a number and it will know what they means. HOWEVER recently they put a limit, you can only add like 4 transactions per day, seemingly to push you to upgrade. So im quite sad that i cannot use it for free. i will consider other products before i can judge if it's worth it to pay for this service
