Hey Hunters! My name is Brad Rees - I’m based in Australia and we are excited to share our new product - Speakeasy with you today. Speakeasy is a lightweight message and video chat tool built for moving projects to done. ------- 📍 HOW IT STARTED We originally built speakeasy to compliment a platform for hiring contractors. When the pandemic hit and like all of you reading this right now, we needing to move remote, we found ourselves using the tool for quick chats and calls to manage communication on projects. We found it much better than the usual suspects - slack, zoom and teams because we could build features that suited the team and our needs. ------- 🎉 HOW IT’S GOING Today, we’re excited to share Speakeasy with the world. 300+ Beta users are using it right now for starting and finishing work. And you can join them today. We even used Speakeasy to plan this launch. Which is running smoothly so far! Speakeasy isn’t over built. It’s just right for teams. Enough chat and notifications to keep your team moving but not overwhelming like Slack or Teams that are massive brain and productivity drains. Long-term we see Speakeasy connecting teams who previously didn’t get a chance to have access to expensive and team software and tools. Small business, Freelancers, Agencies, Not-For-Profits, Clubs, Sporting Teams and community organisations. We want Speakeasy to be affordable and accessible to everyone. Not overbaked or confusing just plain and simple chat, filesharing and video for to keep us all connected. With Speakeasy we are promising: Fewer notifications, lower barriers to entry with email accounts, video + chat in one, an easy meeting schedule tool and topics you’ll actually follow. Problems with slack, teams and other tools: Slow and complicated onboarding Hard to add clients and external team members for projects Old channels and topics clog your workspace with junk Get started in 3 easy steps. 1️⃣ Login with an existing email address. 2️⃣ Join or create a topic. 3️⃣ Invite your friends or colleagues to start the conversation. We’re looking forward to seeing you ditch slack, teams, email and zoom for a better way to work.

My Funnel

I'm really impressed with the focus on being lightweight and simplicity of bringing in people outside your organisation. Speakeasy seems to nicely bring together email, chat and video to streamline workflow with teams and clients.

I was fortunate enough to get early access to Speakeasy and I have been evaluating where it sits compared to email, instant messenger apps, collaboration tools, etc. For individuals, companies and even industries that have avoided or missed the boat on older communication tools like Teams and Slack, Speakeasy is the obvious starting point. It is far easier to use than those tools. It is immediate and instinctive to use. So my message to the productivity laggards of the world, give Speakeasy a go, it's simple, your team will love it, your clients will love it and if nothing else, you'll love what it does to your email inbox.

I have used Speakeasy in beta, it's really simplified my communication with my clients and partners and has helped streamline my workflow. I use it to set up projects, share large files and get consensus and quick feedback to move projects along. Less waiting for emails before I action things! I like the share link where I can onboard people straight into a topic and I feel like it helps support my relationship building with clients and my team. Its super easy and intuitive to use and requires 1-2 minutes to get productive on it. Very useful!

Speakeasy has made client onboarding faster (my primary use case at the moment). I'm often a member of cross-functional teams that work on growth projects. With a tool like Speakeasy we can move quickly, stay on the call in the background for feedback and not jump into a workspace that feels bloated and full of notifications on conversations that I had no real say in joining. With Speakeasy I can better organise conversations that are relevant to me and my work with fewer notifications. What I'd like to see more of in future is how it can help me move email threads into a topic. There's probably a few email threads in my inbox that I can convert to topics in this and everyone already knows each other. For now I'll copy and paste them in and use the subject line but maybe a chrome extension could be handy.
